JEFFERSON COUNTY (WKOW) – The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is alerting residents to a bear roaming around the Lake Mills area.
In a Facebook post Friday night, the sheriff’s office encouraged people to keep their distance from the bear. Do not try to approach it to take pictures. Do not feed the bear.
The post goes on to say, “Keep your pets inside, lock up your pet food and avoid putting out bird seed. Also, keep your garbage cans inside if you can.”
If you see the bear, do not call 911 unless you are in danger.
